Back-to-School Shopping in Potomac Village and Beyond

Back-to-school. Three words that bring mixed emotions to the hearts of parents and children alike as they usher in a flurry of activity.

The new Verizon licensed retailer by the corner of River and Falls roads is ready for action. Locally owned, “We’ve only been open for four days. We’re very excited to be here,” said Manager Adam Kirshon. “We’re looking forward to the back-to-school crunch next week.”

Verizon specials include a free LG Cosmos II with an upgrade with a two-year contract. There’s also a special on accessories. Just down the street, Walgreens has specials on school supplies and apartment and dorm necessities.

 has a tune-up special for those who plan to take their bikes to college with them. “We fix them up and get them in good working shape,” said Matt Baker, Mechanic. The cost of the tune up is $79 with additional costs for any work agreed to beyond the tune up. The whole thing takes about two days.
