Get Out: Potomac's Picks for February 25-27

Best bets for the weekend around Potomac.

1. Wine Tasting at The Wine Harvest

WHERE/WHEN: , Saturday, Feb. 26 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

WHY GO: Will host its seventh annual Bingo event on Saturday. All families and friends, boys and girls of all ages are welcome to take part in the fun! There will be a snack bar, bake sale and prizes for all winners. Also, people can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win an electric scooter! Proceeds will benefit the Washington Middle School for Girls.

PRICING: Cost to play Bingo is $5 per person or $20 per family.

 

3. Great Falls Nature Walk  “Sights and Sounds of the Season”

WHERE/WHEN: Great Falls Tavern Visitors Center, 11710 MacArthur Blvd. Saturday, Feb. 16, 10 a.m.

WHY GO:  Join volunteer naturalists for a 2 hour walk along the C&O Canal. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and comfortable walking shoes.

PRICING:  Free

WHERE/WHEN: on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m.

WHY GO: Children and adults alike will find this opera exceptionally entertaining.  The performance is a modern version of the classic fairytale.

PRICING:  Free.  No registration required.  Sign language interpreters by request.

WHERE/WHEN:  Blair Center for the Arts on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.

WHY GO: Enjoy jazz performed by Bullis Students and the Blues Alley Youth Orchestra, dinner, and a “swinging” good time.

PRICING:  $5 for Adults, $2 for children

 

6. Westfield Montgomery Mall Movie Theaters “The King’s Speech”

WHERE/WHEN: Montgomery Mall’s newly renovated theaters present Oscar nominated “The King’s Speech”.  Show times:  11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

WHY GO: The Oscar Awards are this Sunday, Feb. 27. “The King’s Speech” has been nominated for 12 Oscars-- a must-see before the actors stroll down the red carpet.

PRICING:  $8 before 6 p.m., $9.50 after 6 p.m., $7 for Seniors.
