Get Out: Weekend Picks April 15-17

Where/When: on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Get the kids up and moving with this fun musical event presented by Terri Winkler. Newborns to 4-year-olds will enjoy this event where they get to make their own music, sing and dance.

3. Help Beautify Potomac

Where/When: on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: For the church’s Earth Day celebration and in preparation for Easter services, church members and other interested community members are helping clean the church grounds and surrounding areas. Bring gloves, tools and a hardworking attitude to the church to help clean up weeds, sticks and trash. You can even get your car washed by the church’s youth group!

4. Pizza and Photo with Easter Bunny

Where/When: Potomac Pizza location in Potomac Village on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: The Easter Bunny is stopping by the restaurant! Come have lunch at Potomac Pizza during the designated time and get a free picture with the Easter Bunny.

Pricing: Meal prices vary depending on order and number of people.

 

5. Bethesda Literary Festival

Where/When: Downtown Bethesda in various locations on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Why Go: The 12th annual Bethesda Literary Festival will host local and national authors, journalists and poets, as well as writing contests and poetry contests. Michele Norris, Steve & Cokie Roberts, Gayle Tzemach Lemmon and Marie Arana are just a few writers who will be at the festival. For a list of all events, check out the festival’s website.

Where/When: Cabin John Regional Park Ice Rink on Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: The Potomac Speedskating Club wants you! Stop by the ice rink to learn to speedskate and get involved with the club. The Potomac Speedskating Club welcomes skaters young and old as well all levels of experience. From April through August the club is hosting sessions at the Cabin John Ice Rink on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Pricing: 3 sessions free, then $250 for 10 sessions
