Where/When: The Billy Goat Trail is a 4.7-mile hiking trail that follows a path between the C&O Canal and the Potomac River within the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park near Great Falls. Access from Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center area or the parking area near Old Anglers Inn.

Why Go: March 20th is the first day of spring. Get the family out to enjoy early blooms along this pleasant trail. Enjoy it or any one of the area’s wonderful parks and trails.

LECTURE: Cell Phones: Are They Safe for Kids?

Where/When: Pyle Middle School Cafeteria, 6311 Wilson Ln., Bethesda.  March 17th, 7 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Why Go: Hear Dr. Devra Davis, Ph.D. M.P.H, who recently testified before a U.S. Senate committee panel about the dangers of cell phone use, talk about her new book, DISCONNECT: The TRUTH about Cell Phone RADIATION, What the INDUSTRY has Done to Hide It, and How to PROTECT Your Family. Her talk will include steps you can take today to reduce exposure to children, who face more risks because of growing brains, thinner skulls and longer exposure.
