• BACKYARD BIRD WATCH

Where/When: Outside your window, at your child’s school or playground, bird feeders available at Strosniders, 10100 River Rd.

Why Go:  In cold weather, different types of birds are more willing to forage for food together. Teach your children about bird behavior by installing a feeder – it will help get our feathered friends through the cold weather too. Check out Strosniders terrific feeder display at the front of the store, or make a feeder at home. Lightly coat a pinecone with peanut butter –not too much, as too thick peanut butter can “glue” small bird beaks closed- and hang from a tree.

Pricing:  free to $45
