Pepco: No Outages in Potomac During Snowquester, as of 3 p.m. Wednesday

Not too many customers were without power in Montgomery County as of Wednesday afternoon.

A major snowstorm that was predicted to bring up to 8 inches of snow to Montgomery County by Wednesday evening affected some Pepco electricity customers in the county.

By 3 p.m. on Wednesday, fewer than 15 customers (10 in Rock Creek Forest and fewer than five in West Silver Spring) in the Chevy Chase ZIP code of 20815 were without power, according to Pepco's online outage tracker. Customers in Silver Spring (35 customers) and Bethesda (fewer than 5) were also without power.

Pepco announced that it brought in additional restoration crews from Alabama and Georgia to assist in case power outages were widespread. Heavy, wet snow and high winds can affect power lines and result in outages, the utility said.
