PHOTOS: New Median Strip in Potomac Village

On Wednesday, the new median strip is completed and clean.

Even with heat advisories, construction crews from the State Highway Administration pushed through and completed the new median strip in Potomac Village ahead of schedule.

The median strip, which is between the BP and Sunoco stations in Potomac Village, was paved over and stamped to look like bricks matching nearby businesses, said Jennifer Matheson, the Director of Operations at Potomac Chamber of Commerce. Construction started on Tuesday and was completed by Wednesday afternoon, although it was anticipated to take three days.

The improvement of the median came after it had become overgrown and unkempt, Matheson said. Little Farms Garden Club, the SHA and the Potomac Chamber of Commerce partnered to help beautify the median.
