What's 1 Thing Your Dad Taught You?

For Father's Day, Patch asked members of the community what their fathers taught them.

Benny's Bar and Grill owner Benson Fischer learned from his dad never to trust anyone, "including himself, and that was a true statement," Fischer said. Benny's Bar and Grill recently opened in the Cabin John Shopping Center, Patch reported.

Scott Selman, media technician at Winston Churchill High School, learned from his dad the importance of a good handshake and how to interact with people. Selman is leaving Churchill High School to focus on his own video production company, CYM Media and Entertainment, which he started in 2009, the school's student newspaper, The Churchill Observer, reported in a Patchblog.

And, Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad volunteer Tim Hussey said that his dad taught him to work hard and never back down.
