Accomplishments: On Tuesday, the members of both teams were honored at their end-of-season gathering at That’s Amore Restaurant in Rockville. During the Banquet, the following team awards were announced:

Cameron Moshyedi - Academic Award
Will Lewis - Bobby Miller Courage Award

Jordan Bass - Bulldog Award
Jesse Simon - Most Improved Player Award
Christian Bonaparte - Most Outstanding Defender
Thomas Geenen - Most Outstanding Player
In addition, six varsity players (Bass, Kyle Edwards, Geenen, Lewis, Moshyedi and Simon) received the MPSSAA's Minds in Motion Scholar Athlete Recognition Award for achievement in the classroom as well as on the court.
It was also announced that Seniors Will Lewis and Jesse Simon were selected by Montgomery County high school coaches to the 2011 Montgomery County Public School Senior All-Star Game to be held on Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at Thomas S. Wootton High School.
Key to Awesomeness: The Churchill Varsity (18-6) and Junior Varsity (12-8) combined for 30 wins during the 2010-11 season, the most successful year in boys basketball at Churchill in the past 33 years. Throughout the season, Head Coach Matt Miller has said the team’s hard work and dedicated have helped lead to an excellent record.
