Keeping Our Eye on the Ball at the AT&T National

With the AT&T National set to tee off at the Congressional Country Club, AT&T has its eye on the ball. To help ensure you stay connected, AT&T has caddied in several network enhancements to help customers enjoy a great wireless experience.

  • Cell on Wheels (COWs). We have deployed two COWs for expanded coverage and to accommodate expected increased demands on our wireless network.  The COWs will improve reliability and increase data speeds.
  • Free Wi-Fi Coverage. AT&T customers can enjoy free Wi-Fi service at key sites throughout the course, including the main entrance, the 7th and 18th Holes, and the AT&T Digital Clubhouse.
When you need a break from watching the golfers or just want to beat the heat, be sure to enjoy some of the various activities going on throughout the tournament:
  • Military Focus. Once again, supporting our troops will be a major focus at this year’s tournament.
    1. Watch a pin flag replacement ceremony by Hole 17 on Friday, June 28th. AT&T’s own Angie Wannamaker, a member of the Army Reserves, will be participating.
    2. Visit the Military Care Package Tent to build care packages to send to drop overseas – AT&T will donate 5000 prepaid cards for the bags. Last year, we deployed 5,880 care packages and raised more than $3K.
    3. Sign out Salute Our Heroes Tribute Wall at Hole 18 – we will be breaking the wall down and sharing it with military organizations.
    • Practice Safe Text. As part of AT&T's "It Can Wait" campaign and anti-texting-while-driving efforts, AT&T will have a simulator onsite to demonstrate the risks of texting behind the wheel. A computerized software system used within a real stationary car, the simulator gives drivers a safe way to learn about the dangers of texting and driving. Help us spread the powerful safety message during the 100 deadliest days of summer and encourage Washingtonians to take the pledge not to text and drive.
    • AT&T Digital Clubhouse. Enjoy an air-conditioned lounge with AT&T's latest and greatest devices from Samsung, including 4G LTE smartphones, tablets and more. Spectators can also charge their phones free at AT&T charging stations.
