Blast 24: American Bandstand

Winston Churchill’s 24th annual production of Blast will be performed this December in the Bish Auditorium.  This year, Blast 24: American Bandstand hits the Churchill stage December 7-9 and 14-15, 2012.

Blast From the Past has a long history within the Churchill and Montgomery County communities.  Adults, children, and families attend year after year for what they know will be an outstanding show performed and produced by over 200 student singers, dancers, musicians and technicians.

“This is my 14th year directing Blast and I am thrilled to bring American Bandstand to the stage,” said Carlos Barillo, Churchill Choral teacher and Blast director.  “Each year, the students add something new to the show and I cannot wait to see how audiences react to this years talent.”

The songs in this year’s production represent all musical aspects of the American Bandstand era, including teen idols, the British invasion, and the dance craze that swept the nation.  Infused with student spirit, American Bandstand is an energetic, song and dance soundtrack for all ages.

Blast 24: American Bandstand will be performed at Winston Churchill High School Friday and Saturday, December 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 7:30pm and Sunday, December 9 at 2:30pm.
