Neighbors Stand Together! Tour

Did you know – on any given day, 982 people are homeless in Montgomery County with 229 being children? Did you know – the unemployment rate for adults in homeless families within out County is 53%? That number is substantially higher for homeless individuals. On the list of jurisdictions with the highest number of homeless people in the region, Montgomery County is #3, just behind Washington, DC and Fairfax County. If you have not visited a shelter before or would like to learn more about the state of poverty and homelessness in Montgomery County, Interfaith Works invites you to join a Neighbors Stand Together! Tour. At a tour, you will see how Interfaith Works brings people of diverse faiths together to help our neighbors in need and learn about our mission and the many programs that support those in our community. Friends, family, colleagues, congregations, and children are more than welcome to attend. This one hour tour, held at out Wilkin’s Avenue Women’s Assessment Center in Rockville, MD, will take you through one of our shelters to share the good work that Interfaith Works does as well as increase education and advocacy about homelessness in our community. To RSVP for our upcoming tour or for more information, contact Rachael Long at rlong@iworksmc.org or (301)315-1096.
