NIH Community Orchestra and Chorus Present: A Seasonal Celebration

The National Institutes
of Health (NIH) Community Orchestra and Chorus in association with
the East Avenue Ensemble of Chevy Chase present “A Seasonal
Celebration.” The one-time only performance will take place on
Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Cedar Lane Unitarian
Church, 9601 Cedar Lane, Bethesda, Maryland. The concert, which is
sponsored by the NIH Recreation
and Welfare Association and the
American Music Performance Foundation,
benefits the charities of the NIH. The concert is free, as is
parking. Free will donations are welcome to benefit the NIH
charities.


The
performance will feature timeless orchestral and choral music,
including several selections from Handel’s Messiah
performed as a sing-along. The orchestral portion of the program will
consist of Mendelssohn’s The
Hebrides,
Corelli’s
Concerto Grosso in G Minor
,
and Schubert’s Symphony
No. 8 in B Minor (“Unfinished
”).
In addition to the Messiah,
the Chorus will perform Pinkham’s Christmas
Cantata
.
