21 Days to Higher SAT Scores

An Easy Daily Practice Can Literally Change the Brain and Even Improve SAT Scores!

More and more studies are coming out revealing the amazing benefits of mindfulness meditation. Studies have been done on students where over a relatively short period of time, they have actually experienced not only an overall sense of calm, but they have improved their ability to focus and concentrate.

The more I read about these studies, the more I realize what an easily accessible tool it is to improve test scores:

- A study of university students in California shows that just six minutes of meditation improved college students’ test scores. Students who meditated before classes were also able to concentrate more and for longer periods of time.

- In a study from the University of California, Santa Barbara, researchers found that after a group of undergraduates took a two-week intensive mindfulness training program, their working memory capacity improved and  their mind-wandering decreased. They also performed better on the reading comprehension section of the GRE.

- A study of university students in California conducted by Professor Robert Youmans, of George Mason University in Virginia and co-lead by University of Illinois doctoral student Jared Ramsburg found that those who practiced the art of Zen scored better on tests. They also found students who meditated before classes were able to focus better and concentrate for longer. In one experiment, the meditation even predicted which students passed and which students failed a quiz!
