I sent this letter on Ten Mile Creek to the County Council

Dear Council Members:

I am writing to you to appeal to you to vote against development at Ten Mile Creek. I am quite sure that you have seen the picture below, but I want you to really look at it, and understand that if you allow the Ten Mile Creek Pulty Development, then the legacy you will leave Montgomery County will be another ubranized, polluted stream that jeopardizes the health of all who drink water in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Why do the developers always seem to win? We have known for over a century the damage that uncontolled development does to our water supply. There are alternatives to where development happens, but there are no alternatives once you have decided to destroy the purity of the last, best stream in Montgomery County. Most of our streams have already been degraded to fair or poor condition, and the aquatic life they support is limited and may not even meet the State standards for "fishable and swimable".

The streams that supply our drinking water need wide, forested buffers, and they need to have limited impervioius surfaces beyond the buffers.

I drink water and I vote.
I want full protection for Ten Mile Creek
