Burglaries, Thefts from Vehicles Plague Potomac in Late June

There were five burglaries, eight thefts from vehicles and a weapons offense in Potomac in late June.

In late June, several burglaries and thefts from vehicles occurred in Potomac, according to information released from the Montgomery County Police.

The area totaled five burglaries, eight thefts from vehicles as well as other offenses such as a weapons offense from June 21 through June 25.

Montgomery County Police released details of the crimes, which include:

  • A burglary that occurred at , 11511 Gainsboro Rd. The suspect forced entry into the club some time between June 21 at 7 a.m. and June 22 and it is not known if anything was stolen.
  • A burglary occurred at the Bretton Woods Recreation Tennis Shop, 15700 River Rd. Some time between 5 p.m. on June 21 and 7:20 a.m. on June 22.
  • A garage burglary happened in the hundred block of Cold Spring Court. Some time between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on June 22, a suspect forced entry into the garage and stole property.
  • A suspect stole property from an unsecured house under construction in the 9000 block of Durham Drive between 5:20 p.m. on June 22 and 7:30 a.m. on June 23.
  • A residential burglary happened in the 11600 block of Luvie Court between June 22 and June 25. It is not known how the suspect entered the house or if the suspect took anything.
  • There was a burglary at Seven Locks Elementary School’s construction site. Between 4:45 p.m. on June 24 and 7 a.m. on June 25, a suspect forced entry and stole property.
  • Police said that eight thefts from vehicles happened between 7:30 p.m. on June 23 and 8 a.m. on June 24. The thefts occurred in the 8100 block of Inverness Ridge Road. All of the victims said they did not know how the suspect entered their cars and only loose items were taken, police said.
  • A weapons offense took place in the 12600 block of Tobytown Drive on June 23 at 9:26 p.m. Police confiscated the weapon.
