Five Local Teens Arrested in Bethesda Burglary

Two burglaries and multiple thefts from autos were reported in Potomac in the Montgomery County Police Department crime summary for the period of July 16-24:

A residential burglary occurred in the 5100 block of Waukesha Road, Bethesda on Monday, July 23, around 5 p.m. Nothing appears to have been taken from the residence. Five young men from around the area were arrested, according to the Montgomery County Police report:

• Arrested: Male, 15, from Bethesda;
• Arrested: Male, 14, from Potomac;
• Arrested: Male, 15, from Cabin John;
• Arrested: Male, 15, from North Potomac;
• Arrested: Male, 15, from Bethesda.

A burglary also took place at a construction site in the 10400 block of Willowbrook Drive, Potomac, between Monday, July 23, and Wednesday, July 25. Police report there was forced entry and that property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles were reported across residential neighborhoods in the Potomac beat. Fourteen of the thefts targeted unlocked vehicles, or the suspects entered the vehicles by an unknown means. In most of the thefts, only money was taken, the report said.

Four of the thefts occurred overnight between Tuesday, July 17, and Wednesday, July 18, and six occurred overnight between Wednesday, July 18, and Thursday, July 19. Affected streets included: Brent Road, Duxford Court, Brickyard Road, Falls Bridge Lane, Brent Court, Natelli Woods Lane, New London Drive, Turnberry Drive, Kingsgate Road, Rock Run Drive, Loch Edin Court, Glenmore Spring Way, Coach Street, Holbrook Drive, Burbank Drive, St. James Road and Colebrook Avenue. 

The Cabin John, Glen Echo and Somerset areas were also affected by multiple thefts from vehicles. Two of the vehicles there were found with broken windows; the rest had either been left unsecured or else were entered by an unknown means, with no signs of forced entry, the report said.
