Labor Day Enforcement Results in 26 Arrests in Montgomery County

From DUIs and underage drinking to traffic and drug violations, Montgomery County Police were enforcing laws over the holiday weekend.

Montgomery County Police made more than a dozen arrests over Labor Day weekend during a special enforcement program called Operation Millipede. 

According to statistics released by MCP, police initiated 198 traffic stops Friday and issued 168 citations and 39 warnings. 

They also issued 53 equipment repair orders and served two warrants. Eighteen people were arrested for controlled dangerous substances.

On Saturday evening, police targeted drunk drivers in Germantown and 8 people were arrested—7 for DUIs and 1 for the possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Officers also responded to a report of an underage house party in Gaithersburg where they issued 18 citations for drinking underage and one citation for furnishing alcohol to a minor.
