Lanes Back Open on I-270 Following Accident, Fire
A minivan caught fire after an accident near the Democracy Boulevard exit of I-270 South.
Traffic is clearing up after a car caught fire on Monday morning south of the Democracy Boulevard exit of the I-270 spur.
As of 10 a.m., only the left HOV lane was blocked following an accident where fire engulfed a minivan, which appeared to have struck a car from behind, according to reports from WTOP.com.
The fire was extinguished, however, the accident caused delays on I-270 South most of Monday morning, WTOP reported. Delays are still expected in the area.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the accident, according to WTOP’s reports.
