Police Arrest Teen in Victory Lane Shooting

DeAngelo Jackson, 19, of Poolesville, was arrested and charged in connection with the Easter Sunday shooting at Victory Lane in Potomac.

 

Police said they have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for the April 8 .

DeAngelo Jackson, 19, of Poolesville, was arrested on Saturday and charged with attempted first-degree murder and several related charges including first and second-degree assault, authorities said.

Around 11:42 p.m. on Easter Sunday, police said they responded to reports of a shooting at 8521 Victory Ln. in Potomac.

A 21-year-old male victim and his roommate were inside the rental home when the doorbell rang, authorities said. When the victim answered the door, he was confronted by a suspect who was armed with a gun, according to a police report.

While the victim struggled to close the door, the suspect pushed into the house, shot the victim and fled the scene, police said. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Based on the police investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Jackson and served at his residence in the 19500 block of Jerusalem Church Terrace in Poolesville on April 14.

Jackson is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and several firearms related charges. He is currently being held without bond. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. May 11.
