Police Release Information about Sexual Assult, Thefts from Vehicles in Potomac

Montgomery County Police released information about crimes in the area in the last month.

Potomac saw an uptick in crime in the end of May and the beginning on June, according to information released by the Montgomery County Police Department. Several thefts from vehicles, burglaries and even a sexual offense happened in the area.

Around 11 p.m. on June 2, police responded to a call about sexual offense at the Rockville Lifetime Athletic Club located on Seven Locks Road outside of Potomac. An adult male said he was inappropriately touched by a suspect, described as a white male between 5’9’’ and 5’10’’.

Also on June 2, a burglary occurred at a doctor’s office in the 9800 block of Falls Road around 3:26 a.m. The suspect forced entry into the office, but did not steal anything.

An attempted residential burglary happened at 3:31 a.m. on June 1 in the 11500 block of Frontfield Lane. The suspect forced entry, but did not take anything. Police are looking for a suspect who is described as a Hispanic male between 36 and 40 years old. The suspect has a heavy build and wore a blue polo shirt the night of the attempted burglary.

Between May 30 and May 31, four thefts from vehicles happened in the community.

  • Two thefts happened on Deborah Drive between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. where a suspect forced entry into the car. A suspect stole a purse from one of the cars, while a purse and $200 cash were stolen from the other.
  • Between 11 p.m. and 7:50 a.m., a suspect stole a 35 millimeter camera and Nike shoes from a car on Candlelight Court. The suspect forced entry into the car, police reported.
  • Between 7 p.m. and 7:15 a.m., a suspect stole an iPod Touch and sunglasses from an unlocked car in the 8100 block of Paisley Place.
