Police Report Thefts from Vehicles at Normandie Farm, Residential Burglary

A look at crime from the past week in Potomac.

The works to prevents and control thefts from vehicles in Potomac; however, two more thefts from vehicles occurred this past week in the parking lot of a local restaurant.

One March 6, two thefts from vehicles happened in the parking lot of between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The windows were broken in both cars and the police said "loose property" was stolen.

The best way to prevent having things stolen from inside a car is to take valuable items inside the restaurant or house, said 1st District Community Services Officer Michael Prather in a . It is also important to store items out of sight, make sure the car door is locked and roll windows up when in a parking lot or shopping center, Prather added.

Also this past week, a residential burglary occurred on the 8900 block of Heatherwood Court in Potomac on March 8 between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Police reported that it is not known how the suspect entered the residence or if the suspect took anything.
