Police: Thieves Use Stolen Credit Card to Buy Puppy in Rockville

Montgomery County Police are trying to catch the people who used a stolen credit card to rack up more than $4,000 worth of purchases—including a puppy.

The credit card was stolen in August, but on Friday—with the hope of catching the crooks—police released a video of the male and female they think were involved.

Police said thieves—a male and female—broke into a 60-year-old woman’s car as she attended St. Jane Frances de Chantel Catholic Church in Bethesda on Aug. 11.

Hours later, the card was used to purchase a 3-month-old Yorkshire Terrier from the Just Puppies store located in the Twinbrook Shopping Center, 2004 Veirs Mill Rd., in Rockville.

They then bought clothes Nordstrom at Westfield Montgomery mall. Police said video footage from Nordstrom shows the male holding the puppy during the transaction.
