Potomac Crime: Vandalism at Cold Spring Elementary, Burglary at Seven Locks Pool

Crimes occurring in Potomac between July 8 and 16.

The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between July 8 and 16. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Cold Spring Elementary School (9210 Falls Chapel Way, Potomac) on Friday, July 12, at 3:30 a.m. There was a forced entry, and vandalism occurred.
  • Several thefts from vehicles occurred during different nights on Mary Cassatt Drive, Lambertina Place and Charen Lane. Three of the vehicles were known to have been left unlocked, while the fourth had no signs of forced entry. Each vehicle was searched. Among the items taken were a GPS unit and a laptop computer.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 12000 block of Trailridge Drive in Potomac during the night between Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13. There was no forced entry, and property was taken. 
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 9600 block of Reach Road in Potomac during the night between Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13. An unlocked car was entered, and an iPod cable and gear shift knob were taken. 
  • A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 11800 block of Trailridge Road in Potomac during the night between Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13. There was an unknown entry, and a USB charger and gift card were taken. 
  • A vehicle theft occurred in the 11700 block of Trailridge Drive in Potomac during the night between Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13. There was no forced entry. 
  • A commercial burglary occurred at the Seven Locks Pool (9929 Seven Locks Rd., Potomac) during the night between Thursday and Friday, July 11 and 12. There was a forced entry, and property was taken.
