Rafter Rescued on Potomac River
A woman sustained minor injuries while rafting and was taken to an area hospital.
An adult female who was part of a group rafting on the Potomac River was rescued Sunday morning and transported to a local hospital, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire/Rescue.
Strike Teams 710 and 730 along with the U.S. Park Police helicopter Eagle One carried out the rescue north of Angler's Inn and south of Fish Ladder on the river, Garcia said.
The woman sustained minor injuries while in the raft. Garcia was unable to confirm the name of the rafting company or program that sponsored the activity.
