Three Burglaries Reported In Potomac on Same Day

The 1st District Montgomery County Police Department released crime information for the week of Nov. 1-5.

 

Three burglaries were reported in Potomac in the Montgomery County Police Department crime summary for the week of Nov. 1-5.

  • A residential burglary occurred on Saturday, Nov. 5, between 9:16 p.m. and 9:19 p.m. in the 11200 block of River View Drive, Potomac. Unknown means of entry; nothing was taken.  
  • A residential burglary occurred on Saturday, Nov. 5, between 8:30 p.m. and 8:59 p.m. in the 9800 block of Potomac Manors Drive, Potomac. Forced entry; property taken.  
  • A residential burglary occurred on Saturday, Nov. 5, between 7:58 p.m. and 8:54 p.m. in the 8800 block of Potomac Station Lane, Potomac. Unknown means of entry; nothing taken. 

Police have released information regarding the arrest of two suspects charged with two of the three recent Potomac burglaries. Demar Anthony Brown, age 27, with no fixed address, and Jonathan Abraham Mulatu, age 20, of Baltimore, were arrested in Fairfax County, Va., Nov. 8.

The two are charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and are believed responsible for the Nov. 5 burglary at a residence in the 9800 block of Potomac Manors Drive and another Nov. 5 burglary at a residence in the 11200 block of River View Drive, according to the press release.

"Because Brown and Mulatu remain in the custody of Fairfax County for the burglary committed in Great Falls, Montgomery County Police have placed detainers on both suspects for the cases in this county," the release said.
