Worker Sustains Injury After Heavy Object Falls on Him

A helicopter is landing at Bullis School in Potomac to transport the victim to at trauma center in Baltimore.

A man is being transported to a trauma center after sustaining a potentially serious back injury while offloading a truck in Potomac.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the 10900 block of Bolton Drive in Potomac around 12:15 p.m. on Friday after receiving calls about an adult male who had an object fall on him while offloading a truck, said Beth Anne Nesselt, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue. The object — which has not yet been identified — weighed several thousand pounds, Nesselt added.

A helicopter will land at Bullis School to transport the victim to a trauma center in Baltimore, Nesselt said.

The victim was identified as a worker, although his employer is not yet known.
