The Montgomery County Department of General Services will host a public meeting about the Brickyard Road Soccer Field project from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the community center’s gymnasium. County officials will present the scope of the project and seek community input to the content of a Request for Proposal (RFP) that will be prepared for solicitation of private non-profit developers.

Maravell sent out a release this week stating that many see the meeting “as a chance for the County to make good on its promise to discuss alternatives for the property, such as the continuation of the organic farm and agricultural education.”

The soccer field project has been a cause for concern with many Montgomery County residents. At the project’s in April, many expressed their discontent with the government’s process and that their efforts to hear the community's voice were too little, too late.
