Last Chance: Tax Deadlines Loom

Our new 'Last Chance' feature lets you know about important upcoming deadlines.

Tax deadlines are nearing for taxpayers around the country. This week is your last chance to get your forms filed before the April 17 deadline.

Does April 17 sound a little weird? This year, taxpayers have been granted a two-day extension because April 14-15 is a weekend and April 16 is Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia

“Just because there are two extra days this year to file your taxes doesn’t mean you should procrastinate,” warned Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot, “Taxpayers who wait until the last minute to file, especially those who file by paper, can miss deductions or make mistakes. The last thing you want are errors that could delay a refund.”
