Your story captured much of our concern at the meeting last night. This is a community betrayed by their local government. They are angry and feel threatened. They are looking for leadership from their District Councilmember to stand up for their rights as citizens of this County.  All we have asked for from the moment we learned of the proposal foisted upon us by the County Executive and the BOE is a transparent public process we could be part of; not a backroom deal shoved down our throats.  It is telling that almost a year after the highly suspect lease agreement was revealed, there is still enough anger to bring a hundred people out on a rainy night hoping for a chance to turn this decision around.
