You wouldn't know it from his state politics blog, but David Moon, blogger at Maryland Juice, is seriously weighing a run for delegate in the Maryland General Assembly, The Gazette reported.

“I’m trying to focus on advocacy work right now and winding that down before I have to enter the nasty realm of campaigning,” Moon, a political and nonprofit consultant, told the newspaper.

Maryland Juice made a splash when it debuted in August 2011, mixing local news reported by newspapers, Moon's own commentary and insider emails from politicians and staffers.

Moon told The Gazette that he grew up in Montgomery County and currently lives in District 20, an area that includes much of Silver Spring and Takoma Park.

Dels. Heather Mizeur, Tom Hucker and Sheila Hixson currently represent the district in the General Assembly. Mizeur is considering a run for governor, several news outlets have reported, though she has not formerly announced.
