3 Maryland Colleges Make Forbes Top 100 List

Naval Academy, Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland, College Park, on top. See where other Maryland colleges rank.

Three Maryland colleges made it into the top 100 on Forbes’ Top Colleges list for 2013.

The Maryland schools and their rankings in the Top 100 on the list are:

  • United States Naval Academy: No. 28
  • Johns Hopkins University: No. 46
  • University of Maryland, College Park: No. 73

Forbes rates schools based on factors such as student satisfaction, post-graduate success, student debt, graduation rate and awards.

Public schools are faring better than in years past, with 23 in the top 100 and 51 in the top 250, according to Forbes.

  • Loyola University Maryland: No. 127
  • St. Johns College: No. 173
  • Saint Mary’s College of Maryland: No. 177
  • Goucher College: No. 267
  • University of Maryland, Baltimore County: No. 306
  • Washington College: No. 309
  • Towson University: No. 400
  • Hood College: No. 482
  • Morgan State University: No. 626
  • Bowie State University: No. 633

Stanford University topped the list for 2013.
