The 2011-12 Churchill boys varsity basketball team has been awarded the Montgomery County Public Schools Sportsmanship Award for boys varsity basketball for the second consecutive year.

After making  its first appearance in a MPSSAA 4A Regional Final in 33 years, the Bulldogs won the award based on a number of criteria including positive behavior of players, coaches and spectators.

"I am very proud that we have won this award for the second consecutive year," said Churchill head coach Matt Miller. "It shows that we can be successful on the court while at the same time promoting a positive atmosphere for spectators, players and officals. Since I have been here we have constantly stressed character and sportsmanship and it's nice to see that our efforts have been recognized by the Montgomery County Public Schools."
