Churchill, Walter Johnson Students Win National Achievement Scholarships

Christine Hildreth, Maliza Namude and Modibo Camara will each be awarded $2,500.

 

Three students from and were named National Achievement scholars, an award that honors the academic achievements of African-American high school seniors in the United States. 

Christine Hildreth and Maliza Namude, seniors at Churchill, and Modibo Camara, a senior at Walter Johnson, were among the 13 winners from Montgomery County Public Schools and 43 winners from Maryland. The three competed in a pool of more than 160,000 applicants nationwide, of which about 800 were chosen.

Hildreth, Namude and Camara will each be awarded $2,500.
