Cold Spring Elementary Tests Well Even With Infrastructure Needs

Although the school was recently ranked as having the worst infrastructure among 34 of the county's public schools, students performed well on tests.

They may not have the best infrastructure in place for learning, but students at are still scoring well on tests, according to The Gazette.

The school was recently ranked as having the worst infrastructure out of 34 elementary schools in Montgomery County's school system, according to the article from Nov. 9. It may be due to the fact the 39-year-old school hasn't been modernized since 1985. 

Classrooms are separated by temporary walls that cannot drown out other teachers and the school itself is shaped like an "H."

However, students test well, even with the odd learning environment.

The school's 2011 Maryland State Assessment scores reflect that notion as the school met its adequate yearly progress in every eligible category.
