Gourmet Meals Available for Curbside Pickup at Connelly School Of the Holy Child

Dinner to Go will help fundraiser for the Connelly School of the Holy Child in Potomac.

is making gourmet dinner a convenient option for local families with their Dinner to Go program — a fundraiser that support's the school's Prom after-party in the spring.

Dinner to Go, which is held the first Wednesday of every month, calls parents of past and present students to package pre-made dinners from Vignola's Italian Gourmet and Catering in Rockville. Through November and December, many hungry Potomac residents registered for the featured meal — Chicken Picatta — which they can pick up curbside at the school from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8.

"We've heard nothing but good things about them," said Shannon Van Why, coordinator of the dinner and Assistant Director of Student Life.

Although registration is closed for the Dec. 8 Dinner to Go, registration for the Jan. 5 Dinner to Go will open up on Dec. 15. In January, the popular Turkey Chili will return to the Dinner to Go menu.

Many parents find themselves too overloaded to cook during busy times of the school year, making Dinner to Go a helpful option, Van Why said. The numbers of dinners ordered usually increases as parents get busier during the school year, she added.

Each month, between 50 and 80 dinners are purchased through the program, Van Why said. A dinner for four costs $30.

Dinner To Go raises money for the Post Prom event in April at the North Bethesda Marriott. At Post Prom, students can enjoy a buffet, tattoo stands and rock bands throughout the night.

"We try to keep them as late as possible to keep them safe on prom night," Van Why said.
