Islanders Boys Hoops Trounce Saints, 81-57

Kaleb Warner earned a double-double in the game, finishing with 20 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds.

The Interlake Saints had no answers for the size of the islanders on Friday night, resulting in a lopsided 81 - 57 win by Mercer Island at home last night.

MI's top three scorers led the way with Kaleb Warner ending with 20, Nick Nordale with 19 and Joe Rasmussen with 12. Senior Sam Finfer, the fourth leading scorer in the league, scored the Saints' first 12 points on his way to leading all scorers with 23. Warner also dished out 11 assists and hit the boards with 7 rebounds.

The Islanders bench also contributed a significant effort. Espen Platou finished with 8 points while Jake Shaddle and Max Tilden each contributed 6. The entire MI lineup played significant minutes and contributed in the win. Daniel Sims rolled in 4 points while Nikhil Misra and Jake Stenberg each hit a three in the contest.

"We played hard for 32 minutes tonight," said Mercer Island head coach Gavin Cree. "That's what we try to accomplish every night."

The Islanders next play this Tuesday at Mt. Si at 7:30 p.m.
