PHOTOS: Students Ditch The Cars on Walk to School Day

Wayside Elementary School students met up and walked to school together on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

A group of Wayside Elementary School students lined up on the corner of Bedfordshire Avenue and Glen Road, anxious to walk to school despite Wednesday morning's chilly weather.

This was just one small group of students from Wayside Elementary School who participated in the Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Beverly Farms Elementary School students also participated in the Walk to School Day.

Students walked to school as part of a national effort to promote healthy habits, to create safer routes for walking and biking and to improve air quality in the area.

More than 3,300 schools in the United States participated in Walk to School Day.
