Potomac Residents Prepare for Community Changes with School Modernizations

This fall, a school will welcome back students, while two others will send them to a holding center.

Back to school time may seem far away, but Potomac residents are already anticipating a change in traffic patterns and community feel once modernized schools open for students or close for construction.

After spotlighting the , Potomac residents need to be prepared for changes in traffic patterns once students come back to the school come August. Construction began on the school in the summer of 2009 and, since then, students have occupied the Tilden Holding Center.

The Tilden Holding Center will now be the home of the Chargers as will occupy it while its school . Herbert Hoover’s new facility is scheduled to open in August 2013, so Potomac residents can expect to see more construction vehicles than student activities on the end of Postoak Road during the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years.

Starting this summer, 's students and staff will be , 15101 Bauer Dr. in Rockville, during its modernization. The Northlake Center will be Beverly Farms' home until January 2013, if construction goes as planned, according to the school's website.
