Students Collect Money To Send Orphans To School

Stone Mill Elementary collected $2,600 to send orphans in Zimbabwe to school.

The Stone Mill Elementary Student Government Association sponsored a fundraiser in March to help children in Zimbabwe. The students found out that many children in that country, especially orphans, are unable to go to school because they cannot afford the $200 a year that it costs to attend. The SGA called the fundraiser “Change for Children”, because they hoped to change the lives of many children in that country.

The students raised $2,600 in a week, thus providing funds to send 13 children to school, beginning in May. The SGA officers and executive board made posters, collected and counted money and encouraged all students to contribute.
