"It's always good when you can win the first round of your own tournament and the Heights definitely tested us at times this evening," Churchill head coach Matt Miller saidd after the game. "But we want to end the year well and go into 2012 strong. To do that we are going to need a much better effort against Shaler, especially defensively. They are a tough, disciplined and good basketball team with great coaching which is why we invited them to play in our tournament. They are exactly the type of team you want to face to prepare for division play starting next week. We know we have a strong challenge on our hands in the championship game."
