Churchill Head Coach Awarded Second 'Coach of the Year' Title

GameDayMD.com gave Matt Miller the title of the coach of the year for public schools.

Winston Churchill High School Boys Basketball Coach Matt Miller was named "Coach of the Year" for the second time after GamedayMD.com gave him the honor on Monday.

of the 2010-2011 Coach of the Year on March 10.

GameDayMD.com, which covers high school sports, recognized the top players and coaches of the year from both public and private high schools. Much like the MoCoSportsFan.com story, Miller won coach of the year and Springbrook senior guard Enerio Jones won player of the year for the public schools.

Miller, who finished his third year as head coach at Churchill, has coached the Bulldogs through two winning seasons with an overall record of 42-29.

Under Miller's leadership, the Bulldogs achieved an 18-6 overall record and won the 2011 MOCO 4A West Division Championship en route to an appearance in the MPSSAA 4A West Region Semifinals. It was Churchill's best season in 32 years.
