“Fresh Start Science is a new approach to help young single mothers,” said its founder Dr. Fredric Abramson. “It’s all about empowering women to take positive actions that will improve her life and her child’s life.” The Fresh Start Science program builds on information about the natural talents and strengths that are encoded in a person’s DNA. This Wellness Genetics profile highlights how heredity contributes to creativity, athletic ability, behavior, personality, weight management and other aspects of normal, everyday life. Specially trained mentor/coaches then work with each young mother to target concrete, practical steps aimed at good jobs, added education, and strong parenting. Go to www.FreshStartScience.org for more information about Wellness Genetics and the program.

The D.C. Divas won their seventh division title in ten years as part of the Women’s Football Alliance. Players come from a variety of professional and athletic backgrounds. The D.C. Divas home field is at the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex. Go to www.DCDivas.com for more information about the D.C. Divas history and upcoming season.
