PGA Tour: Where to Park if Going to Congressional for AT&T National

How to get to, and where to park at, the big golf tournament if you're taking your car.

It’s a big week for Montgomery County, as golf aficionados from around the world flock to Bethesda’s Congressional Country Clubto watch top golfers vie for the chance to win the 2013 AT&T National tournament, a stop along the PGA Tour.

The tournament takes place Thursday, June 27, through Sunday, June 30, with professional practice rounds taking place on Tuesday, June 25, and the AT&T National Pro-Am taking place on Wednesday, June 26.

For those traveling to Congressional to watch some rounds, take note: If driving, you’ll have to use one of the official tournament parking lots, as there is no general admission parking available at or near Congressional.

Public parking for the tournament is available, according to the county’s public information office, at:

  • Rock Spring Lot (Blue Lot), 6720 Rockledge Dr., Bethesda (7 miles from Congressional at I-270 and Democracy Boulevard). This is the best location for those coming to Congressional from points south. The lot operates Tuesday, June 25, through Friday, June 28, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Single-day and weekly passes are available.
  • Montgomery County Fairgrounds16 Chestnut St., Gaithersburg. This lot operates Thursday and Friday only, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. A single-day pass is $7. The cost includes one-day parking and a shuttle pass from the fairgrounds to Congressional (fewer than 15 miles away). Get a single-day pass for the fairgrounds.

Shuttle buses will depart from both lots about every 15 minutes, depending on traffic. There will be security checks for all passengers before boarding the buses.

Note that no bags larger than 6 inches by 6 inches by 6 inches will be allowed on the shuttle buses.

Find a VIP Preferred Parking Lot at 7727 Persimmon Tree Ln., next to the AT&T National main entrance, with walking access to the tournament. That lot will operate Tuesday, June 25, through Friday, June 28, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Single-day passes, ranging from $30 to $50, are available for specific days, depending on the day of the week.
