New Orleans rock band, Better Than Ezra will be making a stop in Potomac for the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship to help celebrate Military Appreciation Day on Oct. 9 at the Champions Tour's final major of the season.

Tournament officials announced Friday that Better Than Ezra, best known for their chart-topping hits "Good" and "Desperately Wanting," will perform at a ceremony during Military Appreciation Day to salute military families. Birdies for the Brave, a PGA TOUR charity, is hosting the concert to benefit the military and raise awareness for their cause. Birdies for the Brave raises millions of dollars for military homefront groups that help members of the military who are seriously injured in combat, according to the charity's website.

Birdies for the Brave began when PGA TOUR player Phil Mickelson and his wife, Amy, wanted to support troops injured during combat. For each birdie or eagle Mickelson made throughout the season, he contributed money to the Homes For Our Troops and Special Operations Warrior Foundation. He gave $100 for a birdie, which is one shot under par, and $500 for an eagle, which is two shots under par.

The Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship will take place at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm on Oaklyn Drive and will bring in golf legends such as Jay Hass, Tom Watson, Nick Price, Hale Irwin, Jeff Sluman, Craig Stadler and Fred Funk.
