Montgomery County’s farms open their barn doors this weekend for the 23rd Annual Farm Tour and Harvest Sale.
Area residents will have the opportunity to tour 15 local farms Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Farms will offer visitors the chance to pet animals, pick fruits, brave flower mazes and purchase harvest goods.

Some of the more central Montgomery County vendors include:
Butler’s Orchard, Germantown
Located at 22222 Davis Mill Rd. in Germantown, Butler’s Orchard provides seasonal pick-your-own produce, including berries, flowers, pumpkins and Christmas trees. This weekend the farm will provide free hayrides, races and slides.
Good Life Farm Inc., Darnestown
The family-owned farm located at 14701 Darnestown Rd. will offer a miniature horse demonstration, mini-golf and nature mazes. Activities are buy-one-get-one-free during the farm tour.
Homestead Farm, Poolesville
This pick-your-own farm located at 15604 Sugarland Rd. will offer peaches, blackberries, tomatoes and flowers this weekend. Children can also visit farm animals.
Rocklands Farm, Poolesville
After a farm tour that takes visitors around pastures of grass-fed beef, chicks, pigs and lamb, the farm will sell burgers to eat by its onsite creek. Rocklands Farm is located at 14525 Montevideo Rd.
Button Farm, Germantown
Located in Seneca Creek State Park, the Button Farm is a living history center illustrating 19th-century life on a slave plantation. The farm will offer walking tours, historic activities, as well as produce from its farm stand.
Camp Olympia, Rockville
This horse riding center will celebrate its 54th anniversary this weekend with riding demonstrations each half hour. The camp is located at 5511 Muncaster Mill Rd.
