Glorystar Children's Choir Presents Spring Concert

More than 130 choristers, ages 5 to 18, will present a program spanning multiple cultures and musical styles.

The Glorystar Children’s Chorus will present its Spring Concert on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater in Rockville, MD. The show acts as a culmination of the program’s 16th season. Four choirs will perform children’s songs, folk songs, sacred, contemporary and classical music crossing multiple cultures, time periods and styles.

The program’s youngest singers in the Beginning Choir will present two songs about “creepy creatures.”

The Training Choir, with performers ages 7-11 years old, has been working on a Brazilian folk song called "Amoda da Gahrachinia.” The Training Choir and Concert Choir will combine to sing an uplifting song called "Antiphonal Alleluia."

Later in the show, the Concert and Chamber choirs, comprised of the program’s oldest performers, will teach audience members to sing a Chinese folk song "The Sunshine and the Rain."

According to choir administrator Carol Tseng, some of the final acts including "Kiss the Girl" from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” and a song written by Bob Chilcott called "Like a Singing Bird" will be real crowd pleasers.
