May 17 At Potomac Village Farmers Market this week you'll find plenty of seasonal veggies and fruits on hand such as spicy arugula, crisp asparagus and sun-sweetened strawberries.

A few lesser know but just as delicious are garlic scapes, the tender flower bud shoots of the garlic bulb and mustard greens, perfect for sautéing or livening up a salad plate.

Alliabaad Farm is back this week with lots of seasonal vegetables. Earlier this spring, Ali's barn burned down, bringing his farm operations to a screeching halt. The fire took the barn and everything in it including farm equipment and the lives of fifty hens. With the help of neighboring farmers, prayers from friends and family, and old fashioned determination, Alliabaad farm is recovering slowly.

Ali and the surviving hens are bringing their first batch of farm fresh eggs to market this week!

Rocklands and McCleaf's take their designated places today along side the bakers and Carol of Plantmasters who'll have plenty of garden plantings for you to start your own vegetable plot. 

Frankly Pizza will return on May 24 as will All Things Olive. Picnic Gourmet Cheese Spreads is bringing a new product, Tandoori Cheese spread so stop by for a tasting. Go Fish will be there too.
