Potomac Village Farmers Market: At The Market This Week Nov. 1

A guide to "What's New" at the Potomac Village Farmers each Thursday, 2 - 6:30 pm May - Nov. 1st, 2012

TODAY – More Fresh Apple Cider! Lots of freshly picked apples. Many happy customers have stopped in to tell us how McCleaf's apples are now their family favorite. Honey Crisp, Cameo, Empire, Fuji, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Ida Red, Red Delicious, Suncrisp (soooo good; great for pies, too), Stayman Apples.

This is the last market for the season.

Say what? We will miss all of you so come on out, stock up on your favorite apples, and say farewell until next year. Remember to buy your favorite pizza, a fish taco or both. Try a freshly frozen cheesecake from Simply Delicious for the holidays or whenever you want to indulge yourself. Great pies and baked goods too! And don’t forget Cake Pops. These bite-sized treats from our Young Entrepreneur, Yaseem, have been hit with everyone, of every age! Rocklands has wonderful pastured beef and pork so now is the time to stock your freezer.

Look for us on the Patch during the winter months, too. We have new farmers starting next year and we hope to provide insights into who they are and what they do. Look for updates on activities related to Rocklands Farm and McCleaf’s Orchard throughout the cold of winter, too. Believe it or not, farmers are busy right up to January even when the fields are covered with snow. Animals need feeding and plans for next year need to be made. There is lots of work to be done over the winter but let’s hope January brings a wee bit of rest for the weary farm hand! Looking forward to seeing you Thursday, Nov. 1. Thank you for your patronage and support throughout the 2012 season. Potomac is the best!!
