Caitlin Grant Does It Again

Twelve-year-old Caitlin Grant won the award for the most money raised by a single individual at the MCSPCA Dog Walk and Pet Fair again this year.

She did it again – Caitlin Grant, 12, of Potomac, doubled the amount of money she raised for the Montgomery County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, winning the award for the most money raised by an individual. Her total came in at $2,271.

.

Grant said this year she expanded the area where she solicits donations and it made all the difference. Her usual donors, family, friends, neighbors and schoolmates came through like usual, but this year she canvassed neighborhoods that were beyond her immediate Potomac neighborhood.

“This last week I knocked on doors in neighborhoods surrounding mine and everyone was so nice,” Grant said. “It made a real difference to the amount I was able to donate.”

Grant was inspired to donate to MCSPCA because of her grandmother who worked with rescued and abandoned dogs at MCSPCA, and from her own love of animals, especially dogs.
